Farm Bureau Foundation of Sonoma County is excited and honored to participate in #GivingTuesday this year. #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration, celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season when many focus on their holiday and year-end giving.
Farm Bureau Foundation, a non-profit charitable foundation, administers ag education programs and scholarships provided by organizations, businesses and individuals to assist deserving students in their agricultural education. This year, the Foundation awarded more than $135,000 in scholarships reflecting the tremendous generosity of donors who support the next generation of agricultural leaders.
In addition to scholarships, the Foundation partners with Tomorrow's Leaders Today, a program of Social Advocates for Youth, to educate local high school juniors about the importance of agriculture in their daily lives. The Foundation also co-sponsors the Awards Dinner at the conclusion of the Sonoma County Fair to celebrate the accomplishments of 4-H and FFA exhibitors. Additionally, the Foundation sponsors the Gold Cup Award for the outstanding 4-H or FFA exhibitor.
Farm Bureau Foundation, established in 2006, is celebrating its 10th anniversary! Now more than ever, the next generation needs to be educated about agriculture. Please help continue to cultivate agricultural awareness in the community.
Please consider the Foundation when making a donation on #GivingTuesday. Thank you for supporting agriculture education!
