Recognized for his commitment to providing a local 100% grass fed lamb product to all 47 Northern California Whole Foods Stores.
Joe Pozzi – of Pozzi Ranch Lamb was honored by Whole Foods Market with their Supplier of the Year Award for Perishable Products. Recognized for their incredible achievements in 2019, Pozzi Ranch Lamb was recognized at a reception held in Austin, Texas, on February18. The annual awards recognize suppliers that embody Whole Foods Market’s mission and values through proven commitments to quality, environmental stewardship, organic integrity, innovation, purpose and partnership.
Pozzi said that being selected as Supplier of the Year for the Northern California Region of Whole Foods is a great honor.
“I’m surprised and humbled by this recognition,” Pozzi said. “I couldn’t do it without the support of my employees, my daughter Alexandra, and the other growers who work with me to supply a year-round product of fresh 100% grass fed lamb for the 47 Northern California Whole Food stores.
Pozzi Ranch Lamb was one of 32 suppliers recognized this year. The honorees include local, regional and national brands across all product categories and were selected by Whole Foods Market leaders, category experts and buyers who work closely with suppliers every day.
Pozzi Ranch Lamb has been supplying Whole Foods markets throughout Northern California with 100% grass fed lamb for over 14 years.
“We supply lambs throughout the year delivering a fresh wholesome product on a weekly basis,” Pozzi said.
Pozzi Ranch Lamb has worked exclusively with Whole Foods developing a strong relationship with their meat team employees, educating the consumers about the amazing qualities of Pozzi Ranch Lamb.
“We have spent many hours doing cooking demos in the stores providing samples of our Pozzi Ranch Lamb to consumers who have never tasted it before,” Pozzi said. “We also provided tours of the ranch showing employees of Whole Foods how we raise and take care of our animals.
Pozzi Ranch Lamb is certified under the Global Animal Partnership (GAP) Step 4. This is a third-party audit which provides consumers with the assurance our lambs are 100% grass fed and pasture centered.
Pozzi said that he also completed a carbon farm ranch plan on our original ranch, which quantifies the amount of carbon being sequestered through best management practices on the ranch.
He said that he is proud to continue to work diligently to provide the high-quality Pozzi ranch Lamb product that consumers demand.
