There are three things you need to know about Sonoma County Farm Bureau Premium Member Andrew Ryan. He likes dirt, he likes numbers, and he likes helping people smile. His strong agricultural background, educational experiences, and dedication to community service make him an outstanding member of the Sonoma County agricultural community and a successful realtor.
He said that his life has been impacted by three major events that all happened in 1983.
“Bruce Aidells started Aidells Sausage Company, Gary Keller started Keller Williams Realty, and I was born at a whopping 10lb 14oz right here in Sonoma County,” Ryan said.
Little did Ryan know, but he would grow up and eventually work for both companies in the future.
As a 6th generation member of the Ryan Ranch, located between Bodega and Occidental, Ryan grew up working and caring for the land alongside his family. He said he has countless memories of time spent at the ranch, but one of his favorite memories was raising a ranch steer named “Patch”.
“I won a blue ribbon with him at the Sonoma County Fair,” Ryan said. “From that experience, I learned that hard work pays off even though the darn steer dragged me around more than a few times on the ranch before we made it to fair.”
The Ryan Ranch has been a working family ranch for over 130 years. Currently, the family raises premium beef cattle and top of the line quarter horses.
After graduating from Santa Rosa High School, Andrew attended Santa Rosa Junior College and then Chico State, where he earned an Accounting and Marketing degree. He then worked in the marketing division managing the national demo program for Aidells Sausage Company and Gallo Salame.
After living away for school and the start of his career, Andrew returned to Sonoma County in 2016.
“I was so happy to return to the place I grew up and am proud to call home,” Ryan said. “I am now a realtor and a partner with the McCall Team at Keller Williams Realty.”
Ryan accepted the responsibility after Trish McCall asked him to lead their land division. As a trusted reliable resource, Ryan and the McCall Team bring unmatched talent, drive and innovation to those looking to buy or sell real estate
Ryan said that he was pleased to join the Keller Williams McCall Team because of their strong ranch-like work ethic and their values focused around God, family and then business.
Keller Williams was recently named one of the best places to work for by Glassdoor and Forbes in 2019.
Ryan said that he agrees with the distinction.
“Nationally, Keller Williams is holding the #1 spot in agent count, units and sales volume,” Ryan said. “Locally, we are the #1 real estate team in Sonoma County.”
Combining his land and business background, Ryan seeks to help those buying and selling real estate whether it’s a condo, home or ranch. He said that as a realtor he strives to provide the best-in-class service to customers so that they get can achieve their dreams and meet their needs.
As a Boy Scout, Ryan said that he learned how to read maps while becoming an Eagle Scout. He said that guiding clients through real estate transactions is much like navigating to a destination using a map.
“I understand and take very seriously my responsibility to successfully guide clients through real estate transactions no matter how small, large, or complex the property,” Ryan said.
Ryan recognizes that real estate is most people’s largest investment and that clients need someone they can trust to guide them through the process.
“I would like to be your first realtor of choice,” Ryan said. “As your trusted real estate professional, I’ll help you plan your next real estate sale or purchase of your home, ranch or estate in Northern California.”
He said that Northern California is still the top place to live and work in the world, which is why he is here to stay.
“People often ask me when the best time to buy or sell real estate is,” Ryan said. “I always say that it really depends on the property and price. That’s where I come in and seek to help customers by providing expertise.”
Ryan is passionate about family and community. When he is not working or volunteering for Farm Bureau, he spends time with his Church, the Active 20-30 Club #50, the Jamison Merit Award Committee, and giving piggyback rides to his niece and nephew.
Growing up in the agriculture community and in Sonoma County, Ryan said that he strongly supports the Farm Bureau.
“There is a limited amount of land and the Farm Bureau is a real organization with real people that really promotes and protects the future of agriculture,” Ryan said. “Farm Bureau accomplished this mission in the past and continues to do so to this day.”
Ryan said that his favorite Farm Bureau events include the Ag Days YF&R Pedal Pull Races and the Great Sonoma Crab & Wine Fest.
“It’s fun to see the kids race on the pedal pulls and although I absolutely love beef, I do like crab too,” Ryan said.
Andrew is thankful and believes he would not be where he is today if it were not for support from the agriculture community.
